My deepest sympathy to all.
I had the privilege of getting to know Chris through basketball and, like most Lady Eagles, have such great memories of those days. Being an underclassman in learning mode, it was a bit overwhelming whenever called off the bench as her substitute (those were some huge shoes to fill). She was not just tough and smart, she was powerful - a force to be reckoned with, confidence unwavering, no matter the score and she led by example.
She was also a solid person in general, a great mentor in both sport and life. She treated me well and took me under her wing. She taught me a lot but I learned more from just watching her in action. She helped shape me during impressionable years and she will never be forgotten. To lighten this a little, she used to say before games "Rose, you got any gum?" I always had a piece of Juicy Fruit gum in my mouth. Long story short, she always chewed half of it. She also started the trend of wearing white athletic tape around the forehead as a headband …until the officials made us stop. I've been told over the years by former players from other teams it was an intimidating look.
So sorry for this great loss.

I am so sorry Brit. I know how much your mom meant to you. Saying goodbye and letting go causes such heartache, but you never have to let go of her memories. Those will always be with you. You will shed many tears, for there is no loss like that of a mother, but I pray that you will also remember all the smiles you shared with her while she was here.
