Hazel B Terry

July 25, 1922 ~ December 8, 2017 (age 95)

Hazel B. Terry was born on July 25, 1922 in Star City, Arkansas to the late Albert Taylor and Mozell Boyd Smith.  In 1967 life seen her move to the Community of Osgood, and this became her home for the rest of her life. As the years went one, Hazel became one of the first residents of Buckeye Village in Osgood and continued to live there up until 2014.

She was blessed with one daughter, Linda K. (John) Wagner of Osgood.  Hazel loved life to the fullest, her family and friends were everything to her.  The marriage of John and Linda provided 4 grandsons, which became the center of her world.  She was known to them as “Gegie”, and with the first being born in 1982 she lovingly and willing helped to raise them.  One of her grandsons stated, “they could never repay her for the time, energy and love she gave them.”

Hazel was known for her spunkiness and competitive nature.  Every week on Wednesday was a special day with the family, she always went to her daughter’s home, where they played a hard-fought game of scrabble, watched soap operas, and ended with having dinner together.

The winter of 2014, due to failing health Hazel moved to Ripley Crossing in Milan, to spend the remainder of her life.  As her health deteriorated, she clearly stated that she was at peace and was ready to pass on.  This past Friday, December 8, 2017, she got her wish as she quietly passed away.

Hazel is survived by daughter Linda K. (John) Wagner of Osgood, 4 grandsons, and 3 great grandsons.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Thelma Mahan.
