Mary Ann (Sigrist) Warnken

Mary Ann Warnken age 82 of Osgood, Indiana passed away today, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at The Waters in Batesville, Indiana. She was born on March 3, 1934 to the late Wm R. and Mildred Inman Sigrist at Kansas City, Missouri. She married Roy A. Warnken on August 22, 1953 at Warrensburg, Missouri and later due to his job with the US Shoe Company, they moved to the Osgood location of US  Shoe where they would remain the rest of their lives. Roy preceded her in death on February 16, 1994.

Mary Ann was a member of the Osgood UN Methodist Church, a 60 year plus member of the Osgood Versailles Eastern Star and a past member of the Ripley County Red Hatters! She had worked for Ripley County Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Osgood, Security Insurance Company which had been located in Napoleon, Indiana and later served as secretary of the St. John’s Catholic Church of Osgood. 

She was a very dedicated and loyal member of the Ripley County Democrats where she had served as secretary. Along with this interest, she had served as precinct committeeman for Center Township for over 40 years along with working at election time on the absentee board at the Ripley County Court House.

In her later years, she was able to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren plus also loved to dog set their dogs! She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include one daughter, Melinda K. Hunger  (companion Rick Mittendorf) of Versailles, Indiana one brother, Charles Sigrist of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren April (Matt) Jones of Nashville, Tennessee and Adam (Cassie) Hunger of Versailles. Two great grandchildren also survive, Madelynn and Addison Hunger both of Versailles.

Services will be all in one day, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Neal’s Funeral Home. Visitation from 10:00 am -12:00 noon with funeral at 12:00 noon.  Burial, Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana.  Memorial donations may go to Osgood Fire Department c/o funeral home.
