Richard Henry Pratt

Richard Henry Pratt, age 92, of Osgood passed away on Friday February 22, 2019 surrounded by his family.  Richard was born on March 21, 1926, the son of the late Ferman and Katie (Massing) Pratt in Osgood. 

After graduating high school in 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country of 2 tours of World War II.  After receiving his discharge in 1947, he moved to Indianapolis.  He would meet and marry Peg Steenburgen, and they would spend the next 53 years together until her death in 2004.  Richard had worked in several different fields throughout his career, the majority was as an HVAC technician, which he retired from.  He was a proud member of VFW post 2999.

He will be sadly missed by daughters Sharon (Bob) Maxey of Fishers and Karen (Ron) Mosier of Indianapolis, step sons Robert (Jackie) Burmeister and Paul Burmeister, along with grandchildren Ron (Lesley) Mosier, Bryan (Holly) Mosier, and Amy (Craig) Baumgartner, step grandsons Robert, Tom, John, and James, along with 5 great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren, and sisters Ruth Day and Elizabeth Grossman.  Richard was preceded in death by wife Peg, brother Raymond, and sisters Velma Harmon and Agnes Pratt.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2019 from 10-12 at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held at 12 pm. also at Neal’s.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Garden in Greenwood.  Memorials maybe given to Our Hospice in care of the funeral home.
