Beatrice Ellen (Haggard) May

Beatrice Ellen (Haggard) May, age 82, of Milan passed away early Tuesday March 6, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born on August 21, 1935 the daughter of the late Levi and Lena (Hatfield) Haggard in Liberty, Kentucky.  She grew up in Kentucky along with her brothers and sisters before moving to Columbus, Indiana.

After school she left home and went to work at 1st National Bank of Cincinnati.  She met Harold May and they were united in marriage on January 16, 1960 in Covington, Kentucky.  They were blessed with 4 daughters and they moved to Indiana to raise their family.

“Her battle with cancer is now over, no more tears flowing down her cheek, no more pain, no more suffering, she is no longer weak.” 

Bea was described by her family as witty, fun loving, hilarious, young at heart, caring, spunky, and loving.  Bea went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours.  “Gunny” as known by some of her grandchildren was an amazing person; blunt, and opinionated.…. But she always loved unconditionally, without judgement, always meant well, gave tough love, and worked hard as a fulltime housewife, loved all her grandkids and great-grandkids with all she had!

She will be deeply missed by her daughters Tina (Glen) Hobbs of Shelbyville, Bonnie (John) Earle of Virginia, and Becky (Jeff) Eaton of Napoleon, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, and daughter Denise.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 10, 2018 from 11 am-1 pm at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood with Funeral Services being held at 1 pm also at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Mud Pike Cemetery near Osgood.  Memorials can be made to Mud Pike Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
