John Gayheart Obituary

The man, the myth, the legend, John Michael Gayheart passed away on September 1, 2019 following an accident outside of Osgood.  He was born on September 29, 1971 the son of James Gayheart and Carrie Noble.  John grew up on Adams Church Road along with his brothers and sisters.  He attended Jac-Cen-Del and completed school in 1991.

After school, John worked a few years for Schuerman’s Dairy farm.  He then went on to farm for a few years on his own.  When he was farming he began a new career in the masonry field.  He has worked for the past 15 years for Kurzhals Inc. of Cincinnati.  He believed in an honest day of work for an honest day of pay.

On January 25, 1997 at the former Broomsage, his life would forever change when a little lady asked him to buy her a drink.  Who would have thought this beer would lead to a marriage 3 months and 8 days later.  On May 3, 1997 he was united in marriage to his forever love, Jennifer Mcintosh.  He was her Knight in Shining Armor.

They were blessed with 2 daughters, Cheyenne and Crista.  These three ladies were everything to him.  He supported them in everything they did.  He enjoyed camping and horse back riding, as it provided time together.  There were countless memories made, millions of laughs shared, and some of the biggest stories told on these adventures.  John loved his family, would talk to a complete stranger, give you the shirt off his back (probably sleeveless or neon yellow), and always offered a helping hand.

John was a standout founding member of his self proclaimed Outlaw Gang, where he held all of the offices.  He enjoyed his oatmeal pies and expected a Mexican Wedding Cake every year for Christmas from his mom.  He loved his old cars and working around the house.

He will be terribly missed by wife, Jennifer, daughters, Cheyenne (Brandon) Ball and Crista Gayheart, future grandson John Michael Ball, his parents, brother James (Katrina) Gayheart, sisters Ruth Ann Weston and Candi (Tony) Elsen, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 am, with doors opening at 9:00 am.  Memorials can be given to the family in care of the funeral home.  Dress attire is casual, cowboy hats are encouraged, boots are expected.
