Beverly “Bev” Carol (Hoyer) Buxton age 71, of Osgood passed away overnight. She was born on September 5, 1952 the daughter of the late Norman and Carol (Ludaker) Hoyer in Greensburg, Indiana.
Bev was a familiar face around Osgood, spending her entire life here, minus 4 years at college. She graduated high school from Jac-Cen-Del, received her teaching degree from Purdue University, and her master’s from Indiana Wesleyan University.
She married Robert Buxton on August 18, 1973 and they began their family. They were blessed with 3 children. Bev stayed at home raising them in the early years. In 1987, she went back to Jac-Cen-Del Elementary and began teaching until her retirement.
Bev was a member of Tri Kappa and the Eastern Stars. She had given her time as well to being a 4-H Leader. Retirement provided her with the opportunity to do her favorite job ever “Grandma.” She was proud of her grandchildren and loved to support them in whatever they desired. She enjoyed watching horse shows and cheering each of them on. Her disease may have robbed her memory, but her heart was still full of love for her family.
She is survived by husband Robert Buxton of Osgood, son Rob (Erica) Buxton of Manhattan Beach, California, daughters Tricia (Justin) Derringer of Lancaster, Ohio and Dionne (DJ) Wilson of Cicero, Indiana, grandchildren; Brooke, Blake, Tyler, Victoria, Chase, Brayden, and Maddie, step grandchildren Cooper, Derek, and Kilie, brothers Darrell (Jenene) Hoyer of Port Saint Lucie, Florida and Lowell (Kathy) Hoyer of Brownsburg, Indiana, brother-in-law Johnny Rutherford of Fort Worth, Texas, sister-in-law Sharon (Bob) Zehr of Indianapolis, Indiana, along with several niece and nephews.
Per her wishes a Private Ceremony will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
