Charles " Bud" Wagner age 82 of Osgood, In passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 at his home in Osgood, IN . He was born January 26, 1929 in Osgood, IN to the parents of: Fred J. & Dorothea Strang Wagner. He married Elizabeth Louise Hopping August 23, 1952 at the Aurora Presbyterian Church in Aurora, IN . Betty still survives at home.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marie L. Wagner in 1988 & one brother, James Wagner.
MEMBERSHIPS:
Bud graduated from Osgood High School. He had loved playing sports in high school where he was a leading basketball & baseball player. During his senior year in high school, he tried our for the UN of Kentucky Basketball Team. Between high school & college, he also tried out for the St. Louis Baseball Team. Bud played basketball & baseball while attending Hanover College. Just in the most recent years, he was inducted into the Ripley County Hall of Fame. After graduating from Hanover College, he joined the U S Air Force & graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School. He received an Honorable discharge as a 1st Lieutenant & joined the family bottling business.
He & his family moved to Muncie, IN where he managed the RC Bottling Company. After selling the business, he opened the Great American Restaurant which he & his wife, Betty, ran until they purchased an HWI Redelman hardware & grocery store from which he retired. After retiring he & his wife returned to Osgood.
Mr. Wagner was a member of the Osgood Masonic Lodge # 603 A & FM . He also was a member of the Osgood UN Methodist Church.
SERVICES:
There will be services all in one day, Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Osgood UN Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm . The funeral will
immediately follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at the Greendale Cemetery near Osgood. Memorials may be made to the Osgood Methodist Church or the Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame.
