Jeremy Harry Woytsek, 48, passed away surrounded by family on April 29, 2026, at Ball Memorial Hospital after a long battle with multiple illnesses. Born on October 16, 1977, at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of James and Cindy (Baker) Woytsek.
His life was shaped by loyalty, humor, and love for his family and friends. He built lifelong connections within the community, like his time in the Boy Scouts and playing tuba for the GCS band. He loved sports and was known at the parks for his basketball skills. As a teen, he helped out at the ball diamonds at North Park and umpired Greensburg Youth Baseball League games.
He worked many years in management before disability forced an early retirement. He co-created and wrote for a political blog and enjoyed amateur photography, capturing scenes across Midwest travels. He enjoyed nerding out with his wife over comics, science fiction, fantasy, and music.
On November 5, 1999, Jeremy married Ruth Cheryl Richter. Together they built a life centered around their children, Devin, Jamie, and Kagome, whom he loved deeply. A year ago, Jeremy and Ruth moved to Muncie to be closer to family.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Devin, Jamie, and Kagome; his mother, Cindy Woytsek; his brothers, Duane Woytsek and Derek Woytsek; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, James Woytsek; both sets of grandparents; and his uncle, Ronald Woytsek.
Jeremy’s devotion extended to the lovebirds he cherished deeply, and his family is happy that he will be reunited with them at the Rainbow Bridge.
Private burial will take place at Osgood Perseverance Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net.
