Joseph Nicholas “Joe” Cotton, age 66, of London, Kentucky, passed away Friday evening at the VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Joe was born on April 29, 1959, in London, Kentucky, to Harvey "Dutch" and Ann (Mullins) Cotton. From an early age, Joe developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment he carried with honor throughout his life.
Following his military service, Joe became a truck driver, a career that suited his independent spirit and love for the open road. When he wasn’t working, Joe could most often be found enjoying the peace of his country home—sitting on the porch watching wildlife, fishing, or bow hunting, which was one of his greatest passions. He also took great pride in his collections of model cars and guitars.
Above all else, Joe treasured time with his family. Taking hikes with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him true happiness, and those moments will be remembered as some of his most special.
Joe is survived by his sons, Justin and James Cotton; his daughter, Kellie Cotton; his brothers, Wally and Bill Cotton; his sister, Sharon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dutch and Ann Cotton, and his brother, David Cotton.
