LaVerne Elizabeth Fletcher, age 89, of Milan, passed away on Thursday evening at Ripley Crossing.
She was born on October 20, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Hunkler) Black. She graduated from Xavier High School. LaVerne began her family and was blessed with three children. She raised her family in the Cincinnati area before moving to Milan following the passing of her beloved husband, Joseph Fletcher several years earlier.
LaVerne was a woman of strong faith who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time shopping at yard sales and Goodwill stores, and watching television, especially Friends and Billy Graham programs. Her quiet faith and love for her family were at the center of her life.
She is survived by her daughters and son, Vicki Camden, Mike (Sandy) Camden, and Lesa (John) Bethel; her grandchildren, Mike (Megan) Phillips, Nick (Tricia) Phillips, Jeremy (Neka) Phillips, Jeffrey Camden, and Matthew Camden; several great-grandchildren; her niece, Debbie Miller; and her nephew, Jeff Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Fletcher; and her sister, Delores Martin.
Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
