Obituary

Mary Alice Shelton, 76, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Manderley Health Care in Osgood.

She was born February 13, 1950, the daughter of the late Stanley “Bud” and Alene (Roberts) Stockdale. Mary grew up in the Carrollton community and attended Carroll County High School. She also attended Southern State Community College.

Mary spent many years working for Lowe’s Distribution before later working in customer service at the Lowe’s in Lawrenceburg. She was also a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Versailles.

Mary enjoyed bowling and it was through bowling in Versailles that she met William “Bill” Shelton. The two were married on July 7, 1997 and shared nearly 30 years together until Bill’s passing in 2024.

She loved following UK basketball, collecting antique glassware, and, most of all, spending time talking with her friends and family.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Angel Palmer and Leslie Palmer; son, Brandon (Caroline) Palmer; step-son, BJ Shelton; step-daughters, Angela Brumett and Sonya Agapie; grandchildren, Chase (Samantha) Richards, Kyla Sapp, Drew Brumett, Tiffany Venekamp, Andriana Agapie, Nicolae Agapie, Cecilia Shelton, Madison Hannan, Julia Puig, and Finley Jo Palmer; great-granddaughter, Ava Lynn Richards; nephew, Trevor Stockdale; and niece, Alene Carvin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Shelton; her parents, Stanley “Bud” and Alene Stockdale; and her brother, Johnny Stockdale.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2026, at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial following at Osgood Perseverance Cemetery.
