Charlene Abrams

Charlene (Dunaway) Abrams, age 81 of Osgood passed away early Thursday April 28, 2022.  She was born on December 5, 1940 at the family home outside of Osgood.  Her parents were Leroy and Gladys (Williams) Dunaway.

In the summer of 1958 she would meet Charles “Abe” Abrams, he was home on military leave.  A blind date turned into a marriage within 30 days on August 3, 1958.  Charles had to return to Hawaii, they saved up enough money for a flight and she joined him.  This was a major move as prior to this, the furthest she had traveled was to Greensburg.  They began their military life together living around the world.

She enjoyed gardening, walking, old western movies, and loved the outdoors.  Charles and Charlene traveled throughout the country side on motorcycles, evening going to Maine and onto Newfoundland. 

She will be deeply missed by son Charles Abrams of Butlerville, grandsons Philip Abrams II of Greensburg and Kyle Abrams of Osgood, great granddaughters Murphy and Sammy, and brother Donald M Dunaway of Shelbyville.  She was preceded in death by husband Charles “Abe” Abrams, son Philip Abrams, her parents, brothers; Robert, Jake, and Roy, and sister Barbara Dilk. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 1, 2022 from 2-3 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 1, 2022 at 3 pm., also at Neal’s Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
