Christina Marie Downey

Christina Downey, age 61 Versailles passed away early on Monday March 25, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 7, 1962, the daughter of Robert and Judy Swift.

Early in her childhood the family moved to Detroit, Michigan where she grew up.  She attended Denby High School on the north side of Detroit.  After high school she entered the workforce.  Life would take a major shift when she moved to be closer to her brother in North Vernon, IN. 

The year was 1998 and she was working at Nac manufacturing.   Little did she know she would meet and eventually marry Allen Downey.  They quickly fell in love and have spent the last 26 years side by side.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and enjoyed relaxing playing coloring games on her phone.  Often she could be found trying to figure out a Sudoku book.

She is survived by husband Allen Downey, son Brian (Beth) Swift of Versailles, daughters Christy Swift of New York, Krissy Downey of Osgood, Ashley (Bert) Scudder of Greensburg, and Brittany Amos of Holton, grandsons; Brennan, Julian, Giovanni Noah, Wesley, and Knoxx, granddaughter JollyAnna, brothers Steve (Sandra) Swift, Joe (June) Swift, and Bill (Kerri) Swift, sister Brenda (Joe) Chico all of Michigan, along with numerous niece and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leonard Swift and grandson Sebastian Amos.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 30, 2024 from 10 am.-12 pm., at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held at 12 pm., also at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
