Clinton Hilshorst Obituary

Clinton Alvin Hilshorst, age 77 of Osgood, passed away early Tuesday September 29, 2020 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Clinton was born in Cincinnati on December 6, 1942 to the late Clinton and Elizabeth (Bowman) Hilshorst. 

After his completion of High School, Clinton continued his education in automotive mechanics. Clinton worked for several years at Glenway tire shop and began teaching for Cincinnati Job Core Center in Cincinnati in the automotive department. He then began a new career obtaining his CDL driver’s license. He drove for Baylor Trucking and the DHL for several years.  

Clinton enjoyed spending time with his wife Betty Jo and loved to go fishing. Betty Jo noted how good of a cook Clinton was making tasty chili and homemade goetta. One of his favorite past times was to listen to old country music. 

Clinton will be deeply missed by his wife Betty Jo. He is also survived by sons Kenneth Hilshorst  and Scott Hilshorst, both of Greensburg, daughters Francesca (Scott) Zimmerman of Sunman and Deanna (Tony) McCarter of Pigeon Forge, TN, sisters Rosemary Rauh, Penny Doneworth, and Mary Ann (Herbert) Varin, along with several grandchildren. 

Visitation will on be held on Friday October 2 from 4-7 pm. At Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 3 at 10 am., also at Neal’s Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
