Darlene Marie (Phelps) Roberts

Darlene Marie Roberts, age 69, of Dillsboro passed away on January 27, 2022.  She was born on February 15, 1952, the daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Schmidt) Phelps. 

She attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati where she would meet Vernon Roberts.  They were united in marriage and last year celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.  Darlene worked for several years in nursing care, she then worked in retail sales. 

Darlene enjoyed being with her family.  She and Vernon enjoyed picking the grandkids up and taking them places.  They liked to go around and try various restaurants. Occasionally they would slip away to the “Smokies” for a weekend.  When around the house Darlene liked to cook, watch movies and listen to Elvis.

She will be deeply missed by husband Vernon, son Michael (Sherry) Roberts, daughter Melissa Roberts Bolin, brother Raymond Phelps, grandchildren Amanda (Donald) Stammer, Heather Paul, Zachary Bolin, Tiffany (Devon) Starcher, Michael (Savanna) Roberts, and Rodney Bolin Jr., and 5 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald, and sister-in-law’s Peggy and Debbie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 1, 2022, from 4-7 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 2, 2022, at 10 am., also at Neal’s.  Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.  Online condolences may be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
