Gary Eugene Taylor, age 58 of Versailles, road off into the sunset Sunday November 12, surrounded by his family. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and everyone around him kept the faith. Gary was born on March 7, 1965 in Hindman, Kentucky to his proud parents Bristol Taylor and Ruthine Collins.
His family moved to Indiana and Gary graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School. He went to work as a heavy machine operator and spent the last 30 years as Drill Foreman. He had worked all over the Midwest.
Gary enjoyed his field of work, however his favorite job title was that of husband. He spent the last 21 years with the love of his life Lorna. It was like clockwork when they were together, Lorna got a huge bear hug and “I Love You,” everyday. He was a proud dad, uncle, and grandpa.
Friends were special and meant the world to him. Gary had the ability to walk in a room and make people smile, he cherished his time with friends and family. Gary and Lorna were fortunate enough to ride their Harley in numerous states, with the last major trip being in South Dakota and Wyoming to attend his niece Russina Strassell’s wedding a few months ago.

“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.” Albert Einstein, take this opportunity to understand life is precious, here today, gone tomorrow. Hold your loved ones a little tighter, spend another minute with your buddies, and let the past be the past, and relish the present, but still don’t lose a game of bowling or pool.
