Katherine Demaris Popp

Katherine “Kathy” Demaris Popp, age 61 of Dillsboro passed away October 21, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1960, the daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Duncan) Smith in Batesville, IN.

Upon completion of school, Kathy entered the workforce. She spent numerous years working as a CNA, with several of them spent at Manderley Health Care. She enjoyed being around her family and watching her grandkids grow up. Her hobbies included crocheting, putting puzzles together, watching the supernatural, and riding her scooter around Dillsboro.

Kathy is survived by sons Anthony “Tony” (Myra) Smith of Dillsboro and Chris Popp of Dillsboro, daughter Samantha Popp of Batesville, brothers Michael Smith of Shelbyville, Ronald Smith of Greensburg and Timothy Smith of Westport, sisters Terry Sims of Napoleon and Cynthia (Richard) Byrd, grandchildren Kiersten Barrett, Rachelle Smith, Harold Smith, Jasmine Smith, Hunter Smith, Kasey Walls, Reilee Ollberding, and Addison Ollberding, and great-grandchild Penelope Kocis. She was preceded in death by significant other Steve Cunningham, her parents, brothers Kenneth and Thomas, sister Nancy McAdams, and brother-in-law Kenneth McAdams.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 10am.-12 pm. Funeral services will also be held on Tuesday at 12 pm. All services will be held at Neals Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial will follow at Craven Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
