Kenneth Dean McConnell

Kenneth “Kenny” Dean McConnell, age 47, of Versailles, passed away early on May 22, 2021 surrounded by his family.  Kenny was born in Batesville on August 18, 1973, the son of the late Lester and Norma (Nowlin) McConnell.  He grew up along with his brothers and sisters outside of Osgood and attended Jac-Cen-Del schools.

Kenny can be described as a loving, caring, genuine and gentle soul, he believed in treating others as his own.  Kenny left a lifetime of memories in those he touched, Kenny will be remembered as never quitting, for 17 years he fought being paraplegic after a hunting accident.  He was determined to make the most out of the circumstances delt to him, he was adamant to return home and spend his final days at home with family and faithful friends.            

Kenny enjoyed having conversation and being around his loved ones.  He enjoyed numerous shows on the Discovery Channel.  He loved being outside and enjoying nature.

Kenny will be deeply missed by the love of his life Candy Shadday, children Stephanie (Shawn) Austin, Kenneth “Blake” McConnell, Zachary McConnell, Jordan McConnell, and stepson, Kenneth Shadday, grandchildren Jonathan and Lilliann Arnett, siblings Tammy McConnell, Thomas (Renee) McConnell, Timothy (Luciana) McConnell, Terri (John) Mayberry, Lori (Bob) Herbert, and Kevin (Amy) McConnell, along with several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Tonya Lewis and brother Chris McConnell.

Private services will be held at a future time.  Memorials may be given to the family in care of Neal’s Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be placed on Nealsfuneralhome.net
