My Aunt and uncle went to school with him and other members of my family knew him as well. I missed ever meeting him, but know he was a bright spot to the many who did. My condolences to the family.

I can't remember a time when Uncle Sherman didn't have a smile on his face. He was the kindest, most welcoming man who truly loved his family from the bottom of his heart. I am blessed to have shared some memories with him. I know that he and Jean are smiling down on you all from heaven. You all are in my prayers and on my mind. Rest in peace Uncle Sherman, I love and miss you.

I am truly saddened to hear of Sherman's passing. I was only with him a short time when we took him and 3 other Osgood Veterans to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight. It was a great honor to accompany a true example of "The Greatest Generation". May he have the honor he deserves in his heavenly home.

I have known Mr. Lemen my entire life ... his garden was just to the side of our driveway. When I was younger, I would stop and talk to him when walking home after the bus dropped my brother and I off after school. Later, when I was driving, we would wave. I grew up and bought the place I grew up in and continued to talk to and wave at Mr. Lemen. He was always cheerful and kind - and usually would gladly share some corn with us.

Everyone should be so fortunate to have a neighbor like him --- God Bless him and your family. He will be sadly missed.

May you rest in peace, Mr. Lemon. I attended Jac-Cen-Del from 1967-1973. I have fond memories of you during my school years and also our occasional visits in Kissimmee, when I visited my parents, Marion and Margaret Shields. My prayers go out to your family.

SHERMAN AND OUR DAD WERE CLASSMATES. I REMEMBERED THE VERY FIRST TIME I MET HIM HE SAID YOU MUST BE CARL'S DAUGHTER, AND SAID HE HAD WENT TO SCHOOL WITH HIM. I NEVER FORGOT THAT SIMPLE BUT REMEMBERAL MOMENT. IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO HAVE KNOWN HIM. MAY HE LIVE FOREVER THROUGH ALL WHO KNEW HIM.

Sherman was a close friend to both of my parents, Melvin and Emma Lue Michel.
Sherman always stopped by their house in the summer to deliver many items from his garden. My family agreed that no one could raise the best sweet corn in southern Indiana like Sherman!
Osgood will always remember this outstanding citizen!

When I think of Sherman I see him setting at a card table ready to play cards at a Downey reunion. My Mother, Laverne, spoke highly of him. My prayers to the family.
